Michael Wong
President and CTO

Michael is President, Chief Technology Officer, founder and senior architect of all software solutions at Softrend. Michael attended the University of British Columbia (UBC) where he graduated with a B.Sc. in Mathematics at the age of 20. His studies included a minor in Computer Science, Programming and Accounting.

Michael has been involved with computer software for most of his life. His strong love of programming caused him to seek employment in the software industry back in 1981 when the PC was still a mostly unfamiliar object to the general public. He proceeded to work for software firms involved with accounting software, where he quickly gained an understanding of the design of accounting systems and realized that there was much room for improvement in their power, flexibility and ease-of-use. In 1997 he started a Research and Development firm, and after meeting Sandy Milne, founded Softrend Systems Inc.

As the founder of Softrend, Michael’s duties include Senior Management issues as well as the guiding of all products toward technical excellence.

Alexander (Sandy) Milne
Sandy MilneVP Marketing

Sandy is one of the founders of Softrend and has a classic entrepreneurial background. After college, Sandy found himself working for a number of companies until the opportunity arose to be involved in business. In the early 1980s he was offered a partnership in a burglar alarm company. Later, after selling the business, he went on to found a manufacturing and distribution company. Sandy guided this enterprise from a start-up to a favored supplier of the big five Canadian banks. The company presently sells products nationally and internationally to financial institutions and stationery companies.

Sandy guided the company for 20 years through the adoption of mission critical, e-business application software, including accounting, network systems, manufacturing and distribution software and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) integration, gaining a keen interest in software. He became involved with Michael Wong and his software research and development company in 1997 as a business advisor. Together, they founded Softrend Systems Inc. and shortly thereafter, released a powerful B2B and B2C e-commerce software solution called Foundation 3000™.
